Coaching supervision

Reflect on your coaching with a certified coaching supervisor

Are you an executive coach?

It can be helpful to explore challenging issues and topics with a trained coaching supervisor.
Coaching supervision is commonplace in Europe, but newer to the United States.

Coaching and supervision can help you to work more effectively while getting support from a group of colleagues:
  • You are your most important tool. Supervision can help you to see into any blindspots
  • Supervision provides a safe environment for exploring your feelings about coaching clients
  • If you are working together with a co-coach or within a team of coaches, supervision can help to increase alignment and to work through any potential conflicts
  • Supervision can help you to feel more energized about your coaching engagements
  • In executive coaching, the coachee is part of a broader system. The group and I can help you to look a coaching engagements through a more systemic lens
  • There can be questions of where the lines are between coaching and therapy, as a trained and practicing psychotherapist and coach, I can help you to explore these boundaries
  • If you want to make a difference in your coaching by using a DEIJB / social-justice lens, in coaching supervision you can explore how to do this ethically and effectively

New supervision groups starting soon!

Groups of 6 coaches meet with me for 2 hours every month for 6 months. Together, we create a safe-enough space to explore the group's learning edges by looking at specific coaching cases and broader issues and questions brought by you and your colleagues. Coaches learn by bringing their own cases and questions and by participating in discussions about each other's cases and questions. This also helps to develop your "inner supervisor".

Discussions might include:

  • Why do you feel the way you do with a specific client?
  • How do you know whether you are getting to close to psychotherapy when working with clients?
  • What other lenses might be helpful when considering how to help your clients?
  • How can you be more helpful when working with people who have different backgrounds from you?
  • How might the lens of adult development theory provide helpful insight into your client's mindset?
